The Placentia Chamber of Commerce is offering a community-based 401(k) plan for our members — designed to make retirement benefits more accessible and cost-effective for local businesses.

Why This Matters:

California employers with 5 or more employees are already required to offer a qualified retirement plan or enroll in CalSavers. By December 31, 2025, this rule will also apply to employers with 1–4 employees.

Rather than letting the State manage your funds, we’re investigating a Chamber-sponsored pooled 401(k) that could offer:

***Lower administrative costs

***Greater control over investments

***Access for small businesses and self-employed individuals

FAQs:

Can I take advantage of this if I am already signed up with ADP, CalSavers or another program? 

The answer is YES! You can switch to any program you like. The beauty of this program is you have the strength of many reputable companies behind you to make sure your account is in compliance. You also can customize your program to fit your specific requirements for your employees.

What if I don’t have something in place by 1/1/26?

As long as you sign up for something by the end of January, you will be in compliance. This gives you plenty of time to schedule a time with Coram Deo to check out our MEAP. Again, there is no obligation. If you decide not to go with our program for whatever reason, you can still have time to sign up with another program.

Do I have to have employees to take advantage of this program or can I sign up as an independent business owner?

You can sign up individually!!!
